As a racing driver, I keep my fast driving to the track and drive sensibly on the road, as I’m only too aware of the dangers of everyday driving. I believe it is very important to educate the younger generations of the importance of driving safely, particularly in today’s time when there are so many distractions, from sat navs to mobile phones. I look forward to working with my fellow committee members to develop and implement a successful campaign.”

The establishment of the Road Safety Council shows the seriousness of the government in collaboration with the private sector in reducing the rate of road accidents in Johor. The target of the State Government is to reduce mortality rate due to road accidents and to raise awareness to the younger generation about the importance of road safety. In an effort to raise awareness on road safety, various road safety programs will be implemented in selected districts to attract more interest for the younger generation to follow all road safety programs in order to safeguard road safety in the eyes of the younger generation. Hopefully this road safety campaign will have a big impact in the effort to nurture and instill the Johor State Road Safety Council guidelines and promote safe driving messages.
