Jazeman continues in British F3 with Carlin

Jazeman Jaafar returns to British F3 this year, staying with Carlin, the team which he has raced with for the previous two years in this prestigious championship. The PETRONAS-supported young Malaysian driver had a strong season of racing in 2011, finishing sixth in the championship with four podiums and 18 top five finishes. This promising teenager is keen to build on his experience and success of the previous two seasons of racing in the championship which is recognised as a critical step on the motorsport ladder.

Celebrating sixth place in British F3 championship after season finale

Jazeman Jaafar completed his second season of racing in the Cooper Tires British F3 International Series with a strong race to fourth place in the first race at Silverstone circuit yesterday, and a ninth place today in the final race. A slow puncture hampered the Malaysian driver in the second race, leaving him back in 18th place. His consistently strong finishes over the course of the season, including 22 top tens from his 30 starts, placed Jaafar sixth in the final Drivers’ Championship standings.

Donington debut for Jazeman in British F3

The Cooper Tires British F3 International Series returns to racing at Donington Park this weekend after an absence of a few years. Jazeman Jaafar will be racing at this Leicestershire circuit for the first time, as he reaches the penultimate event in this year’s British F3 championship. With three races at Donington and a further three at Silverstone in two weeks’ time, Jaafar is one of six drivers bidding for the final two podium spots in the Drivers’ Championship, with Carlin team mate Felipe Nasr having wrapped up the title last time out at Rockingham.

Podium high for Jazeman at Spa this weekend

A third place podium for Jazeman at Spa Francorchamps with the biggest grid of the season, with 29 drivers, was the high point of a challenging weekend for the young Malaysian driver. The Spa-Francorchamps race weekend combined the Cooper Tires British F3 International Series and the FIA F3 International Trophy, with Jaafar’s points tally from the Spa event putting him in sixth place in British F3 and seventh in the International Trophy. At one of the most demanding tracks, with weather conditions to match, Jaafar finished 16th on track in the second race, although he was later penalised for his part in race incidents, and 12th in the final race of the weekend.

One race weekend, two championships for Jazeman at Spa

Jazeman will be racing in the seventh round of the British F3 International Series which is being held this weekend at Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium. Two of the three races of this event form the third round of the FIA Formula 3 International Trophy, bringing Jaafar his biggest challenge of the season so far.

Jazeman eager to race new British F3 French venue

Jazeman travels to France for the third stop on the European leg for the Cooper Tires British F3 International Series which takes place this weekend, with Paul Ricard hosting its first ever round of the championship. The former Formula 1 French Grand Prix circuit,although new to British F3, is well known to Jazeman’s team, Carlin, as they have raced at the venue in other racing series. Jazeman has had a small taste of the track too, having visited earlier in the season with the SPEED EuroSeries and driven a handful of laps in a SPEED EuroSeries sportscar.

Autosport: British F3 teams drop mandatory pitstops

The British Formula 3 championship will not feature mandatory pitstops this season. Pitstops were trialled last year in the reversed grid races at Rockingham and on the Silverstone Bridge circuit and were due to take place for the first time this season at the Nurburgring last weekend.

Two more top fives move Jazeman to third in British F3

Leading young Malaysian driver, Jazeman Jaafar, continued to post strong results in the Cooper Tires British F3 International Series, with fourth and fifth place finishes in the first two races held at Nurburgring circuit in Germany this weekend. A technical issue relegated him from the front row of the grid to the pitlane for the start of the third race, but Jazeman fought back to finish in 11th place at the chequered flag.
